Welcome to the Glitter Sale Nov. 15 & 16, 2008

Welcome to the first-ever, behind-the-scenes look at Seattle Goodwill’s Glitter Sale. I’m Betsy McFeely, Public Relations Director for Seattle Goodwill, and I’ll be your online tour guide to this 25th Anniversary Sale.

Mark your calendar now! The Glitter Sale will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 15 & 16, 2008 from 9 am to 6 pm, at our Seattle Store, 1400 South Lane St. Get directions.

If you’ve never been to Seattle Goodwill’s Glitter Sale - our blowout sale of glamorous eveningwear, vintage styles, accessories, jewelry and shoes, you will be amazed at the selection and thrilled by the prices. Last year more than 300 shoppers waited in line for our doors to open, raising some $75,000 - all of which benefits Goodwill's free job training and education programs in our community.

This Glitter Sale marks a milestone - the 25th year of this fabulous event! And to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, this blog will offer a sneak peak of what’s in-store.

Take a look at this incredible evening gown. At the Glitter Sale you'll find hundreds of long gowns and cocktail dresses in every color imaginable.

I am wowed by this festive vintage coat. We have an entire room of vintage pieces beginning in the 1920s and going right up to the '90s.

As always, we will have cases and cases of jewelry. I'm swooning over these Kenneth Jay Lane chandelier earrings.

And look at this pair of Jimmy Choos! We have a great selection of vintage, designer and name brand shoes, clothing and jewelry, and I look forward to sharing many of those items with you in the coming weeks.

Please keep in mind that Glitter Sale merchandise is sold "as is" and most items have been previously worn. This blog is informational. The pieces mentioned here have been described as precisely as possible, and any inaccuracies are unintentional. If you have particular knowledge regarding any of the pieces featured in this blog and would like to share it with us, please do.

The Glitter Sale is made possible because of the very generous donations Seattle Goodwill receives from individuals in and around the Puget Sound. We are grateful to you. We are also indebted to our staff and volunteers who sort, tag and hang merchandise for weeks prior to the event. And where would we be without all of you, Glitter Sale enthusiasts who frequent the Glitter Sale? Thank you for shopping with us. The proceeds from your purchases provide free job training and education programs that help low income individuals in our community gain employment.
